From April 16th to 18th, 2025, Mr. Zhang Yun, the Party Secretary of Lishui District of Nanjing, led a delegation of government officials and enterprise representatives to Uganda for economic and trade cooperation and exchanges. This visit was fully coordinated and prepared by the Uganda Branch of Green World International Group, and was accompanied by Mr. David L. Zhang, Vice President of Green World International Group and President of the African Region. Through a series of visit activities and on-site investigations, significant achievements have been made in practical cooperation between China and Uganda in multiple fields.
On the morning of April 16th, the delegation first inspected the operation of Green World Uganda branch, and then visited the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Uganda. They held talks with His Excellency Ambassador Zhang Lizhong and the Commercial Counselor of the People's Republic of China to Uganda, and had in-depth exchanges on issues such as the development of Chinese-funded enterprises in Uganda and bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
On the afternoon of April 16th, under the coordination of Green World International Group, the delegation of Lishui District government and enterprise representatives visited His Excellency Hon.Vincent Bamulangaki Ssempijja, the former Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of the Republic of Uganda, the former Minister of Defense and the current Senior Advisor to the President, and held an investment communication meeting. At the meeting, Green World International Group shared its valuable experience in localizing operations in Uganda and showcased the potentials for cooperation in fields such as health, agriculture, industry, and cross-border trade. Officials from the Uganda Investment Authority attended the meeting and elaborated on the preferential policies of the Ugandan government for attracting foreign investment. The atmosphere of the meeting was warm and lively. His Excellency H.E.Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi, the former Vice President of the Republic of Uganda, and His Excellency Hon. Ruhakana Rugunda, the former Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda, were present at the meeting in person. Three TV stations, including Uganda National Television and two broadcasting companies, conducted follow-up reports, through which the influence of cooperation has been expanded.
On the afternoon of April 16th, the delegation also visited Her Excellency Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga, the current Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda, under the coordination of Green World International Group. Mr. David L. Zhang, Vice President of Green World International Group and President of the African Region, and Mr. Isaac Ren, General Manager of Green World Uganda Branch, made a report on the development history, main business and future development strategy of Green World, especially the localized layout and international expansion in projects such as health and agriculture. Mr.Zhang Yun, the Party Secretary of Lishui District of Nanjing, introduced the broad prospects for cooperation between Lishui District and Uganda in various fields. Her Excellency Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga, on behalf of the Government of Uganda, warmly welcomed the delegation and congratulated Green World International Group and the delegation on the remarkable achievements of this business visit.
On the morning of April 17th, the delegation came to the agricultural base that cooperates with Green World to conduct a special investigation on the coffee industry, focusing on understanding the coffee seedling cultivation, planting and processing chain, providing data support and cooperation foundation for promoting coffee industry cooperation between China and Uganda.
On the afternoon of April 17th, promoted by Lishui District Government and Green World International Group,
the unveiling ceremony of "Uganda (Nanjing Lishui) Modern Agricultural Cooperation Park" was grandly held in LUKAYA. His Excellency Hon. Ssempijja, former Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of the Republic of Uganda, former Minister of Defense and current Senior Advisor to the President, His Excellency Dr. Robert Kyamanywa, Director of the Uganda Investment Authority and Chairman of the Commission, officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, mayors, local government officials, representatives of entrepreneurs and the local community attended the unveiling ceremony, with more than three thousand people witnessing the event. The local government also collaborated with professional musicians to specially create a theme song for this unveiling ceremony. They organized primary school students from the community to perform the theme song by singing and dancing, demonstrating the positive social response of the project. His Excellency Hon. Ssempijja, Mr. David L. Zhang, and His Excellency Dr. Robert Kyamanywa, Director of the Uganda Investment Authority and Chairman of the Committee, delivered speeches successively. Mr. David L. Zhang, on behalf of Green World International Group and Prof. Deming Li, President of Green World Group, expressed gratitude to the Ugandan government for its strong support to Green World International Group. He solemnly promised that Green World would be committed to improving the livelihood of the Ugandan people, including making contributions in the fields of health and agriculture, and making due efforts for the economic development of Uganda. At the same time, Green World would contribute its own strength to the friendship between the governments and people of China and Uganda. The unveiling ceremony was jointly completed by His Excellency Hon. Ssempijja and Mr. David L. Zhang, marking the official launch of the new platform for agricultural cooperation between Green World and Uganda, and at the same time, it represents another solid step forward to the internationalization process of Green World International Group.
On the afternoon of April 17th, the delegation of Lishui District, accompanied by Mr. David L. Zhang, visited His Excellency Hon.Oreym Henry Okello, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda. First, Mr. David L. Zhang, on behalf of Prof. Deming Li, President of Green World International Group, introduced the development of Green World in Uganda and the planning of the Modern Agricultural Cooperation Park, as well as the development and layout throughout Africa even all over the world. Subsequently, Mr. Zhang Yun introduced the development achievements and future plans of Lishui District of Nanjing. At the same time, he hoped that the Minister of Foreign Affairs would pay more attention to the development of Lishui District and the development of Lishui District enterprises in Uganda. On behalf of the Lishui District Government, he sincerely invited His Excellency Hon.Oreym Henry Okello to visit Lishui District of Nanjing at an appropriate time. His Excellency Hon.Oreym Henry Okello readily accepted the invitation.
On the afternoon of April 18th, Mr. David L. Zhang held talks with His Excellency Dr. Robert Kyamanywa, Director of the Uganda Investment Authority and Chairman of the Committee. They had in-depth discussions on issues such as the future planning, policy coordination, and projects implementation of Green World Modern Agricultural Cooperation Park, and formulated a follow-up action plan.
During this event, under the active promotion of Green World International Group,
both sides reached preliminary cooperation intentions in the following three key areas:
Organic fertilizer localized production project: Planning to establish an organic fertilizer production base in Uganda to serve local agriculture and expand the regional market.
Coffee deep processing and export project: Promoting the export of coffee after deep processing from Uganda to China to increase the added value of the products.
Flowing water fish deep processing and export project: Centering on Uganda's high-quality fishery resources, strengthening processing capacity and expanding market channels in China.
In the future, Green World International Group will continue to play the role of a bridge, relying on the bilateral advantageous resources between Uganda and China, actively promoting the two-way interaction of "going global" and "bringing in", and constantly injecting new impetus into practical cooperation in various fields such as industry and commerce between China and Africa.
