Dr. Deming Li and others were warmly received by the leaders and researchers of the Blueberry Research Center and visited the blueberry plantation base and the laboratory of the Blueberry Research Institute in New York.

Dr. Deming Li, had an informal discussion with Peter Oudemans, Director at the P. E. Marucci Blueberry and Cranberry Research and Extension Center, Prof. Mark Ehlenfeldt, Plant Geneticist, Agriculture Reasearch Services, USDA, and Cesar Rodriguez-Saona who led the entomology program at the Rutgers P.E. Marucci Center, and many other leaders and researchers of the center in depth on the problems of blueberry cultivation and the prospects of deep processing of blueberries. In particular, the antioxidant effects of blueberry anthocyanins and how to improve and maintain the content of blueberry anthocyanins in the deep processing were discussed.

At the end of the discussion, the leaders of New York Blueberry Research Institute and Dr. Deming Li made an agreement that the two sides would establish a long-term exchange of views in blueberry research, and hope that the two sides can carry out joint development and research in the field of blueberry deep processing.
