On October 20, a technical exchange meeting on blueberry and blackberry cultivation and product processing was held in Nanjing National Agricultural High-Tech Zone (Baima Town). They engaged in discussions with officials from the Agricultural High-Tech Zone Management Committee, Baima Town, industry experts, and representatives from enterprises across the supply chain on topics including improving the quality of blueberry and blackberry cultivation, post-harvest handling, and deep processing of products.
The exchange meeting brought together representatives from the Science and Technology Innovation Department and Economic Development Department of Nanjing National Agricultural High-Tech Zone Management Committee, as well as relevant officials from Baima Town's Science and Technology Bureau, Enterprise Service Center, and Agricultural Service Center. Also in attendance were representatives from enterprises and institutions including Baima Future Food Research Institute, Zhongliang Industrial, Shuangji Agriculture, Tian Guo Agriculture, Baoshengyuan Food, Qihe Biotechnology, and Kaida Agriculture. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on key topics such as breeding and improvement of high-quality blueberry and blackberry varieties, promotion of modern and efficient cultivation models, cold-chain warehousing and logistics support, intensive processing to enhance quality and efficiency, brand development, and integration of agriculture, culture, and tourism.
As a representative enterprise of blueberry and blackberry processing, Green World has long been committed to improving the quality of blueberry and blackberry raw materials and developing high-value-added products. During the exchange, Dr. Deming Li introduced the company's industrial practices in products such as juice, jam, wine, dried fruit, raw liquid, and anthocyanin extract, and, in combination with the processing needs of the enterprise, exchanged opinions with the attending representatives on product quality improvement and brand building. Professor Jason Zhang, combining agricultural research and international agricultural product processing experience, proposed suggestions on aspects such as variety selection, cultivation management, and processing standardization.
Both parties agreed that the blueberry and blackberry industry in Nanjing National Agricultural High-tech Zone (Baima Town) has a solid foundation, but further efforts are needed to deepen the collaboration among academia, industry, research and application, and to promote variety renewal, standardized cultivation, cold chain support, and improvement of processing capabilities, in order to continuously enhance the comprehensive benefits and brand competitiveness of the industry.
