On the afternoon of September 9th, 2025, about one month ahead of the upcoming Blueberry Festival to be held in China on October 18th, the entire Board of Directors of Green World International Group convened in New Jersey, USA, for a high-level exchange meeting with Philip E. Marucci Center for Blueberry and Cranberry Research and Extension (referred to as “Research Center”) of the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station (NJAES) of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, and representatives from Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU). The blueberry scientific research projects and the future cooperation directions were discussed on the meeting.

Mr. David L. Zhang, Vice President of Green World International Group and President of Green World Africa Region, Mr. Perter Li, Vice President of Green World International Group and President of Green World Latin America Region, Mr. Yanguo Chen, Vice President of Green World International Group and President of Green World Eurasia Region, and Mr. Shaobo Liu, President of Green World China Region, travelled from Johannesburg (South Africa), Peru, Poland, and China respectively, and got together with Prof. Deming Li, President of Green World International Group, in New Jersey, which underscored the Group Top Executives’ deep commitment to this exchange.
At the Research Center, Green World International Group board directors met with Prof. Peter Oudemans and Prof. Cesar Rodriguez-Saona, heads of the Research Center, Mr. Denny Doyle, representative of the New Jersey Blueberry Industry Advisory Council, and Prof. Jason Zhang, expert from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Additionally, Ms. Megan Francis, Ed.D. Candidate, Director of the SEBS Office of Global Engagement at Rutgers University, also participated through remote video. The discussions focused on scientific research, industry development, and international cooperation.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Deming Li expressed Green World’s positive and open attitude towards collaboration and its commitment to bridging academia and industry to transform agricultural research into market-driven applications. Mr. David L. Zhang then introduced the Group’s development history, core products, and international advantages, highlighting Green World’s strong position in both the health industry and modern agriculture.
Prof. Peter Oudemans introduced the history and achievements of the Research Center—the only dedicated blueberry research station in the United States since 1923. Ms. Megan Francis, from the perspective of scientific research and international exchanges, emphasized the university’s interest in strengthening future partnerships and expressed hope that Green World could serve as a bridge to foster high-level and strong academic and research collaboration between the Research Center and Chinese universities. Moreover, NAU also conveyed a clear willingness to exchange students and visiting scholars, jointly undertake research projects, and co-publish technical achievements with Rutgers, facilitated by Green World’s coordination.
Chairman and representatives of farmers from the New Jersey Blueberry Growers’ Association highlighted the state’s unique advantages in blueberry quality, varieties, and cultivation environment, and also expressed their concerns and expectations, hoping to enhance overall competitiveness of the blueberry industry through joint efforts.
At the summarizing session of the meeting, Mr. David L. Zhang outlined three key objectives of Green World’s initiatives:
First, Green World is looking for the world’s finest blueberries as core raw materials for the Group’s health and skincare product series;
Second, Green World, as one of the members in blueberry industry, looks forward to promoting skills transfer and strengthen China–US cooperation in this industry while promoting blueberry and related products to more countries;
And third, Green World hopes to play a greater role in key stages of R&D, aiming to showcase blueberries not just as a fruit, but as a resource with broader potential for human health and social development.
The meeting concluded in a friendly, pragmatic and constructive atmosphere, with all parties agreeing that resource integration and innovative collaboration would not only foster mutual benefits between research and industry but also inject fresh momentum into the sustainable development of the blueberry industrial chain. Through this meeting, all sides expressed strong confidence in future cooperation, looking forward to jointly building a more competitive, innovative, and influential blueberry industry ecosystem.
After the meeting, Green World International Group presented its flagship product, Blueberry Concentrate, to the participants, bringing the exchange activity to a successful close in warm and relaxed atmosphere.
