From July 13th to 14th, 2026, Prof. Deming Li, President of Green World International Group, and Ms. Jenna Li, General Manager of Green World (Lishui) Biotechnological Co., Ltd., visited Michigan State University (MSU) at the invitation of Ph.D. Kevin M. Guskiewicz, President of MSU, for a scientific and technological exchange program. The visit aimed to share Green World’s innovative achievements in agricultural technology, organic fertilizer applications, and blueberry deep processing, while exploring new opportunities for deeper industry-academia-research collaboration with MSU’s leading scholars.
On July 13th, accompanied by professors from College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at MSU, Prof. Deming Li and Ms. Jenna Li first visited the university’s blueberry breeding greenhouse to learn about the latest blueberry variety selection and breeding technologies. Additionally, they held in-depth discussions with professors on cutting-edge topics including improving blueberry nutritional quality and enhancing stress resistance.
After that, the delegation held a meeting with Matt Daum, Dean of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at MSU, along with relevant department representatives. During the meeting, Ms. Jenna Li provided a comprehensive overview of Green World’s global business layout and sustainable development practices, with a focus on the company’s technological advantages in blueberry deep processing and its strategic expansion achievements in the agricultural sector over the past decade. She highlighted that Green World’s self-developed amino-acid organic fertilizer (Nutriplant Organic Plus Fertilizer, NOPF) has been widely applied in multiple countries across Africa and Latin America, significantly improving soil health and crop quality while receiving positive feedback from local farmers.
MSU’s professors specializing in agricultural science showed great interest in Green World’s practices in organic fertilizer promotion and international agricultural development that contributes to poverty alleviation. They proposed several collaboration initiatives, including joint research on the effectiveness of amino-acid fertilizers under different climatic conditions and collaborative training programs for agricultural technology extension professionals. Both sides agreed to further strengthen cooperation in related fields.
On the afternoon of the same day, Ph.D. Kevin M. Guskiewicz personally met with the Green World delegation. He highly recognized Green World’s efforts in transforming cutting-edge scientific research into practical applications and serving society through industry-academia-research collaboration. He also discussed potential future cooperation between MSU and Green World in areas including agricultural technology R&D, international talent exchange, and joint laboratory establishment, expressing his willingness to build a long-term strategic partnership. To demonstrate the importance of the scientific exchange and respect for the distinguished guests, Ph.D. Kevin M. Guskiewicz presented symbolic oak-carved souvenirs representing Michigan State University to Prof. Deming Li and Ms. Jenna Li.
Dr. Sydney Everhart, Chair of the Department of Plant, Soil and Microbial Sciences at MSU, participated throughout the meetings and discussions, exchanging views with the delegation on specific cooperation opportunities.
On the morning of July 14th, the delegation visited the MSU’s Dairy Teaching and Research Center, where they visited the modern dairy farming facilities and focused on the center’s organic matter composting and fermentation systems. MSU’s advanced practices in animal nutrition management, waste resource utilization, and circular agriculture left a deep impression on the delegation. The two sides conducted on-site discussions on topics including standardized organic fertilizer production and the coordinated development of livestock farming and crop cultivation.
The delegation then visited the MSU’s International Center and held discussions with representatives from the university’s international student affairs department and the Africa-Asia academic cooperation platform. Both sides exchanged ideas on promoting international talent development through industry-academia-research collaboration and cultivating young agricultural professionals to support technology extension in Africa and Asia. Preliminary cooperation intentions were reached in areas including joint internship programs, scholarship initiatives, and technical training courses.
The visit to Michigan State University marked another high-level exchange between Green World and MSU following the visit of the MSU delegation, including Dr. Sydney Everhart, to Green World’s Nanjing Production Base in October 2025. This milestone signifies that cooperation between the two sides has entered a new stage. It is learned that Dr. Sydney Everhart plans to visit Green World Nanjing Production Base again in October 2026. Leveraging Green World’s industrial expertise in organic agriculture and health industries, together with MSU’s globally recognized strengths in agricultural and life sciences, both parties will continue advancing substantive cooperation in joint research projects, technology commercialization, and joint talent development, contributing knowledge and innovation to global green agriculture and sustainable development.
