As a key sector of the Silk Road Economic Belt under China's Belt and Road Initiative, the sericulture in Uganda has not only brought significant economic benefits to local farmers, but also provided replenishment to the silk raw materials of China.
On the afternoon of December 12, 2024, Prof. Deming Li, President of Green World International Group, together with the company's top management and expert team, paid a visit to TROPICAL INSTITUTE OF DEVELOPMENT INNOVATIONS in Uganda. They conducted in-depth research on the local sericulture technology, so as to promote the large-scale promotion in Uganda.
Then, the delegation attended the opening ceremony of the China-Uganda Sericulture Demonstration and Extension Center, which not only highlighted the cooperation achievements between China and Uganda in the field of silkworm breeding, but also indicated that the two countries will make more fruitful achievements in agricultural technology exchanges and economic cooperation in the future.
At the opening ceremony, representatives of China and Uganda signed an agreement on cooperation, which not only marked an important step in the field of silkworm breeding technology exchange and cooperation, but also laid a solid foundation for in-depth cooperation in the future, indicating the broader development prospects and cooperation potential in this field, meanwhile, bringing practical benefits to the local people.
