On May 11th, 2026, Green World Uganda Branch, in collaboration with Prof. Chen Sunlu’s research team and the Institute of Leisure Agriculture of the Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences (JAAS), officially launched a trial project titled “Effects of Green World Nutriplant Organic Plus Fertilizer (GW NOPF) and Trichoderma Inoculant Root-dipping Treatment on the Survival Rate of Tea Cuttings” at the Rwebitaba Tea Research Centre in northern Uganda.
Rwebitaba Tea Research Centre is one of the nine Zonal Agricultural Research and Development Institutes (ZARDIs) under the National Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO). Tea is one of the region’s key economic crops, and the Centre plays an important role in Uganda’s tea research and extension system.
Participants in the trial include Ji Kangwei, a PhD candidate from Prof. Chen Sunlu’s research team, and Ms. Min Yi, Fertilizer Technical Engineer from Green World International Group Nanjing Production Base. The study will systematically evaluate the effects of GW NOPF and Trichoderma Inoculant on rooting speed, survival rate, root development, and overall growth performance of tea cutting seedlings. The results are expected to provide scientific data and practical experience for green tea seedling cultivation and biological agricultural applications in Uganda and the wider East African region.
This trial also serves as one of the important pre-event activities for the “1st Conference, Green World International Biofertilizer and Biostimulant Association (GWIBBA), 2026”. The official launch of the project represents not only a technical study on tea seedling cultivation, but also an important step in promoting China-Uganda agricultural scientific cooperation and advancing the development of green agriculture, laying a solid foundation for future international collaboration activities under GWIBBA 2026.
In the future, Green World International Group will continue strengthening cooperation with research institutes, universities, and agricultural organizations in both China and Uganda, actively promoting the research, demonstration, and application of biofertilizers, biostimulants, and green agricultural technologies across Africa, and contributing to the sustainable development of African agriculture.
